In support of doctors, city residents and social activists recorded a new video where they ask the security forces to change the preventive measure for the clinic owner Ekaterina Felzinger, doctors Sofya Mazeina and Evgenia Semenova. But investigators have been adamant for six months now. On January 22, at the request of the Investigative Committee and the prosecutor’s office, the women’s arrest was extended for another three months.
This outraged even the Human Rights Ombudsman Tatyana Moskalkova, who took this case under her own control. After all, judging by the materials of the criminal case, the clinic’s employees are suspected of committing an economic crime. Investigators are trying to find evidence of a fraudulent scheme organized by Ekaterina Felzinger. In 2021, the director of Sante allegedly drew up fictitious documents about the administration of chemotherapy to patients with oncology. Doctors signed papers and sent them to the regional Compulsory Medical Insurance Fund, which paid 26 million rubles for the procedures performed. But detectives have not yet provided any real evidence. Instead, Mazeina is taken for a conversation with regional prosecutor Alexander Semyonov, who he is trying to persuade to give incriminating evidence against Felzinger. And the mother of many children, Evgenia Semyonova, is subjected to real torture in the pre-trial detention center, keeping her in unheated rooms all day and also inclining her to slander.
All these facts only cast a shadow on the integrity of the investigation, which, according to the owner of the clinic, began at the request of influential competitors who wanted to take over the successful Sante medical center. And so that the businesswoman becomes more accommodating than her and is sent to a pre-trial detention center.
