The Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia has completed the investigation of the criminal case against Mikhail Demkin, Vitaly Dzhura and Alexey Tryasnikov. Depending on each person’s role, they are charged with attempted murder, illegal acquisition, possession of weapons and other other crimes.
It has been established that the former owner of the Cherkizovsky market, Telman Ismailov, based on personal hostility, organized the attempted murder of the artist Abraham Russo. He found accomplices Dzhura and Tryasnikov, as well as the perpetrator of the crime, Demkin. The latter purchased a machine gun and ammunition for it.
Dzhura and Tryasnikov, in turn, acquired communications equipment to commit the crime, and they also monitored Russo to establish his route of movement.
On August 19, 2006, Demkin fired shots at the car in which Russo and his guard were on Plyushchikha Street in Moscow. Russo suffered four hip wounds. After the assassination attempt, Dzhura and Tryasnikov hid Demkin, providing him with clothes and money.
A criminal case with an approved indictment will be sent to court for consideration on the merits with the participation of a jury.
Demkin, who served his sentence in prison for a long time, died in 2014.
The investigation into the criminal case against the organizer of the crime, Ismailov, who is on the international wanted list, and other accomplices continues.
