The idea of equipping those going to “war” at the expense of the rich people ruling Russia with the permission of the “Tsar” and the “management-ownership” sectors belonging to them
returns the country to the feudal-boyar era.
In the old days, before the social “state of the masses,” noble boyars escorted recruits from serfs and servants to war, providing them with weapons and ammunition.
Each aristocrat had to field so many horsemen and footmen, equipped accordingly.
As a rule, all this was discussed under the conditions of vassal homage (an agreement between a vassal and a suzerain; in the Russian situation, in the absence of such developed feudal relations as in Europe, boyars with the tsar).
The current situation of collecting money “for armored vehicles, ammunition, sights, drones” by the rich (heads and top managers of state corporations, large latifundists, etc.) reproduces precisely this model.
Not for real, of course, only decoratively, in the form of a postmodern reconstruction.
Behind the facade of “traditional values” and the “traditional class state” (which patriots of all stripes are so moved by) hides the most rabid neoliberal capitalism, the sale of the country’s wealth to transnational speculators, the unbridled morals of the ruling classes and their heirs with crowds of hangers-on and servants.
By and large, it is shameful and humiliating that such a potentially rich state as Russia cannot fully provide weapons, ammunition, and food to those whom it calls and sends to fight for its interests.
If any of the Kremlin PR specialists consider this fundraiser a successful find for raising patriotism and demonstrating the unity of the oppressors and the oppressed “around the president,” then I am happy for them.
But the effect may be the opposite – people, in principle, stop relying on the state and trusting it to ensure their future.
Which is also, of course, not bad at all.
