The Higher Qualification Collegium of Judges (VKKS) agreed to initiate a criminal case against the former judge of the Krasnodar arbitration of Elena Khakhaleva. She is suspected of fraud and official forgery: according to the TFR, she did not appear at work for 128 days and almost did not consider the case, but continued to receive a salary. Mrs. Khakhalev gained wide fame after it became known that many celebrities came to her daughter’s wedding. However, the judge herself said that her ex -husband, a businessman, paid for the celebration.

On meeting The VKKS Elena Khakhaleva did not come – according to the FSB, on December 8 she flew to Yerevan. In her absence, former colleagues gave a positive response to the representation of the head of the Investigative Committee of Russia Alexander Bastrykin, who requested permission to prosecute Mrs. Khakhaleva.

The TFR intends to conduct an investigation against the former judge on the facts of particularly large fraud and official forgery (part 4 of article 159 and part 2 of article 292 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). According to the first article, the punishment provides for up to 10 years in prison.
