The GSU of the Investigative Committee in Moscow opened a criminal case based on the results of a pre-investigation audit in the clinical and diagnostic center “Medicine 24/7”. According to the investigation, on April 14, 2021, after the chemotherapy procedure, the condition of a 71-year-old patient who was treated in the clinic sharply worsened. In this regard, later the elderly woman was sent to one of the city hospitals, where she died on May 10, despite the medical assistance provided. The next day, the Investigative Committee opened a criminal case on the fact of the provision of services that did not meet the requirements of security that entailed by negligence the death of a person (paragraph “c” of part 2, part 1 of article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The clinic conducted searches.

This case can serve as a start for massive check of private clinics. Crimes related to the mistakes of doctors are perhaps the most latent in our country, says Ismail Salpagarov, a lawyer of the Defenses Bar Association, in the recent past, an investigator for especially important matters of the Investigative Committee.
