Such a measure can be accepted for the stability of the domestic market.
Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev at the 16th Congress of the Union of Milk manufacturers said that the Cabinet of Ministers is ready to limit food export if the situation is not in favor of the stability of the domestic market, the correspondent of The Moscow Post reports.
“Control of ensuring the economic accessibility of the main types of food continues. And if the situation does not develop in the favor of the stability of our own market, we have levers of influence. Including, they relate to possible export restrictions. But, you see, I do not want to lose those markets that we have conquered together for so many years,” he said.
In his speech, he emphasized that the indicators in the dairy industry continue to demonstrate stable growth. According to preliminary data, the volume of milk production in 2024 reached 34 million tons.
He noted that in comparison with the previous year, this increase by 200 thousand tons, which is fully consistent with previously made forecasts. Traditionally, about 70% of the total production falls on the organized sector. “
He also noted positive dynamics in the export of dairy products.
“Today, more than 90 countries are available for our milk and dairy products. In 2024, several more, in particular, Kuwait, Bangladesh and Syria were opened,” the Deputy Prime Minister said.
At the same time, he emphasized that the main factor stimulating the growth of the industry is the internal demand for dairy products, which is steadily increasing. According to him, last year the average per capita consumption has grown by more than 2%, which confirms a positive trend in the domestic market.
