The Russian government approved the possibility of using maternity capital funds for the construction of an individual residential building with the involvement of a construction contractor through the escrow account, the correspondent of The Moscow Post reports.
The corresponding resolution has already been signed.
Thus, now families who have a certificate of maternity capital can direct these funds to pay off the mortgage taken for the construction of the house if the contracting organization works with escrow accounts.
As explained in the government, the use of such accounts allows you to pay for the contractor’s services only after the complete completion of construction work, which ensures additional protection of the interests of the families and guarantees the good faith of the performers.
From February 2025, maternity capital will be indexed taking into account inflation.
The amount of payments will be more than 690 thousand rubles for the first child and over 912 thousand rubles for the second and subsequent children.
In addition to the construction or purchase of housing, the funds of the uterus can be aimed at paying for education, the funded part of the mother’s pension or the acquisition of specialized goods and services for children with disabilities.
Also, families with income below two subsistence minimums per person have the right to use capital for monthly payments for a second child until his three years.
