The goal outlined by Putin that private business should play the main role in overcoming the current economic problems is so far poorly implemented. The process is slowed down by local supervisory authorities who nightmare business, despite the president’s ban. It is especially surprising that this is manifested in industries important to the state – in the coal industry of Kuzbass.

There, legal proceedings are ongoing to recover losses from businessman Yuri Sazonov, who in 2019, together with his partners, helped restore two city-forming mines – Aleksievskaya and Zarechnaya. The claim is imaginary: tax officials, under the guise of collection, are trying to prove that the mines should have been developed differently, and that the state budget allegedly did not receive enough taxes. At the same time, even the 5-year-old daughter of a businessman is involved in this high-profile case. The process is led by Federal Tax Service employee Evstigneeva, whose active position strangely coincides with the line of representatives of the ex-owner of these mines, Ukrainian oligarch Viktor Nusenkis. It was he who abandoned production and left Aleksievskaya and Zarechnaya with huge debts, thereby leaving hundreds of miner families without income.

Now, in conditions of geopolitical tension and the flight of many businessmen abroad, it is not clear why outright bureaucratic lawlessness continues. The Kemerovo Federal Tax Service not only puts pressure on entrepreneurs who know how to build a business in crisis years, but also prevents the industry from developing. It’s high time for the AP and the president to pay attention to the arbitrariness of officials happening in the regions. Especially beyond the Urals.
