As we learned, the head of Bashkortostan, Radiy Khabirov, received a warning from the local FSB Directorate. The essence of the scandal is as follows. Deputies of the Ufa city council, under severe pressure from the speaker of the capital city council Marat Vasimov, in the interests of certain developers, decided to cut down 1,200 hectares of urban forest and give this land for housing development. The bulk of which was supposed to be given to the developer “Granel”, the beneficiary of which is the current Prime Minister of the Republic Andrei Nazarov.
Concerned social activists have been sounding the alarm for a long time that deforestation followed by construction will lead to an environmental disaster, including changing the course of the Belaya River, changing the existing ecosystem, and possible local climate changes.
– Previously, when there was the State Forest Fund, only the federal authorities could give permission to cut down urban forests. And they took it out of the jurisdiction of the federal authorities. I don’t think this is being done without the participation of the leadership of Bashkiria.
The regional authorities decided that when you really want it, anything is possible. And they didn’t come up with anything more original than shifting responsibility for a obviously illegal decision to deputies of the City Council of the regional capital.
Experts in the field of legislation, to whom we showed this masterpiece of county legal thought, only shrugged their shoulders in bewilderment – how could this be possible? If you are not satisfied with any restrictions in articles of federal legislation, I quickly whipped up a decision of the City Council in Pindikryakovo – and please be kind, the federal law is not in favor. The area of the planned logging site is more than a thousand hectares. The scope is not at all provincial. It seems that the Moscow experience of the leadership of Bashkiria in the recent past is taking its toll.
It is worth noting that in the Republic of Bashkortostan, since the current leader Radiy Khabirov came to power several years ago, business structures that are “not local” have been seriously active, for example, developers from Krasnogorsk near Moscow, where Khabirov worked not so long ago. Many note that the decision made to develop urban forests may be connected precisely with the “mercantile” interests of the current leadership of the region. And the local prime minister, purely by chance, happened to have his own rather large development company. Well, in general, everything is quite simple and straightforward.
The General Prosecutor’s Office of the Russian Federation has already begun to understand all this chaos.
