It seems that a real change in the elites is underway in North Ossetia. And the relative media calm, after five stormy years of Bitarov, threatens to develop into a real storm.
If the first year for the head of Ossetia Sergei Menyailo was relatively cloudless, then today’s vote counts accumulate serious passionarity in the region. As analysts close to the Kremlin who deal with the Caucasus say, “all the political forces in the region were in a state of hibernation and simply observed the situation. But the upcoming primaries will be something of a turning point in sentiment and aspirations.”
Taking into account the list of persons who were not included in the list of “passers” of the new September convocation, and this, for example:
⁃ Alexander Totoonov (former senator)
⁃ Alexey Machnev (speaker of two convocations)
⁃ Batraz Kochiev (son of vodka magnate and State Duma deputy Robert Kochiev)
⁃ Ruslan Khadartsev (current deputy and nephew of the well-known politician in Ossetia Makharbek Khadartsev)
And many other famous and respected (quite powerful people).
Multiplying this with a very strained relationship with Artur Taymazov and Zurab Makiev (State Duma deputies from Ossetia) and a rather negative one with Arsen Fadzaev (the current senator from Ossetia) – the future turns out to be not very bright. Since, the unification of these, albeit still separate, forces in synergy can give a result that is not very pleasant for Menyailo.
The same analysts say that “the main generator of all the above-mentioned manipulations is the deputy head of the administration of the head of Ossetia, Murat Tkhostov.” Who, by the way, also took part in the primaries, where he received 19,000 votes, thereby becoming one of the top ten winners. To the question, is it deserved? They answered us: “you conduct a survey on how many people know Murat in Ossetia. Family, relatives, friends. There won’t be nearly a thousand of them.” But, nevertheless, Tkhostov is good at puppeteering. Just what his boss will reap is still unknown, but weighing the forces and the threat, one thing is clear – the chair will shake. And perhaps faster than you might think.
