On June 23, 2023, the Arbitration Court of North Ossetia-Alania made a decision to hold State Duma deputy Robert Kochiev to subsidiary liability for the obligations of the alcohol enterprise Rakurs LLC in the amount of 4.1 billion rubles. Let us remind you that back in May 2022, all property and bank accounts of the deputy were seized.
During the trial, which lasted more than a year, the Federal Tax Service, the Deposit Insurance Agency and the regional Prosecutor’s Office announced their claims against Kochiev. Apparently, this is the beginning of the end for the communist deputy’s alcohol business, because the tax authorities have billions of dollars in claims against his other enterprises.
Thus, Orpheus LLC, controlled by Kochiev, was held accountable for committing a tax offense: the Company was assessed an additional tax in the amount of 382 million rubles, penalties – 173 million, as well as financial sanctions – 75 million rubles. The decision of the Federal Tax Service was confirmed by the Decision of the Arbitration Court dated June 16, 2023.
In addition to subsidiarity and tax schemes, Robert Kochiev “distinguished himself” by unsuccessful attempts at raider takeovers. Throughout 2022 and 2023, using his parliamentary status, he took active steps to acquire control over successful enterprises in the alcohol industry. For this purpose, he prepared and sent numerous parliamentary requests, on the basis of which all possible types of inspections were carried out in relation to competing enterprises: the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Rospotrebnadzor, Rosprirodnadzor, RAR. Through pressure from regulatory authorities, Kochiev tried to take control of the inspected enterprises, or, at a minimum, block their production activities. However, here too he failed; the enterprises successfully passed all checks and retained their independence.
