The father of one of the nine Kherson “saboteurs” accused of preparing terrorist attacks…

The father of one of the nine Kherson “saboteurs” accused of preparing terrorist attacks against the leadership of military administrations and taken by the FSB to the capital’s Lefortovo pre-trial detention center, told the Cheka-OGPU story of his son.

Ukrainian citizen Gennady Ofitserov contacted the editor. On July 3, 2022, in the apartment of a 69-year-old resident of Kherson and in front of his eyes, his 47-year-old son Sergei Ofitserov was kidnapped by unknown armed people.

“We lived separately, called in advance, Sergei came to see me and eat. It happened in my apartment on Kazatsky Lane. There were two of us. Suddenly, three civilian men with pistols rushed into the house. They only asked: who is Sergei? The son answered and they laid him face down on the floor and forced him to unlock his phone at gunpoint. None of them provided any documents or justification. Later I learned from neighbors that there was a whole special operation, there were observers on the street, cars with Ukrainian license plates.”

Sergei Ofitserov lived with his mother and stepfather in Russia, studied at a medical institute and worked in civilian professions all his life. My last place of work was furniture production. Around 1996, he returned to his homeland and lived in Kherson, communicated with his own father, and adhered to a pro-Ukrainian position.

As it turned out, Sergei Ofitserov was kept in the torture basements of the regional police department for several months. Visits to the administration, departments and pre-trial detention centers did not yield any results. Including the police department, the relatives of the abducted man were told that Ofitserov was not there, but in the fall one of the prisoners was released from there and conveyed news from his son to Gennady. Then Sergei was arrested by a court in Crimea on charges of committing an act of international terrorism. Around the same time, the FSB announced the detention of nine “saboteurs” in Kherson, who were allegedly preparing attempts on the lives of high-ranking officials of Russian administrations. The interlocutor learned that his son was being held in the main state security prison of the Russian Federation from the publications of the Cheka-OGPU with a list of prisoners in the detention center.

“Even if we omit the illegal detention itself, and in fact the kidnapping, the months when my son was kept in dungeons without trial or investigation and was tortured, even now it is clear that the case was cobbled together out of thin air, only so that the FSB could report on its work. And now that someone has received medals for them, they have to prove the accusations and there will obviously be problems with this. Nothing was taken from my son. All those arrested are civilians. It’s clear that they could have said something there, but this is extracted testimony.”
