​​Exhibits from the exhibition “New Art from the Collection of the Morozov Brothers” returned to the Hermitage from Paris

The transportation to the Russian Federation of all paintings, graphic works and sculptures from the collections of federal museums from the exhibition dedicated to the collection of the Morozov brothers in Paris has been completed.
These are 67 works from the collection of the Pushkin Museum. A. S. Pushkin, 65 – from the Hermitage, 33 works from the Tretyakov Gallery and 2 – from the Russian Museum.
The exhibits returned to Russian territory according to the schedule: 15 flights, starting on April 14. The last cars with objects from the collection of the Pushkin Museum. A.S. Pushkin and the Hermitage crossed the Russian border on May 2 and have already delivered exhibits to museums.

Two works did not reach Russia.

France decided to seize the portrait of Timofey Morozov, painted in 1891 by the artist Valentin Serov.
The painting was presented for an exhibition in Paris by the Moscow Museum of Avant-Garde Art. The president of this museum is billionaire Vyacheslav Kantor. On April 8, Kantor came under EU sanctions.

Also in France remained “Self-Portrait in Gray” by Pyotr Konchalovsky (1910), which belongs to Pyotr Aven. He is also under sanctions.
