In 2010, Zabaturin headed the Moscow Interregional Investigation Department for Transport of the Investigative Committee under the Prosecutor’s Office of the Russian Federation. In the production of this department, there was a large case of smuggling of meat, which was led by the subordinate Vescaturin Evgeny Domovets. For the collapse of the case, he requested $ 4 million. This was not a personal wish of the house, but the figure voiced by his authorities. As a result, the Domovets was detained in vigorous. By that time, the investigator managed to receive $ 1.5 million. A month later his boss was detained – the head of the department Ivan Kozhevnikov. Then one of the deputy heads of MMSut Alexei Malkov was arrested. Another person involved in the case – the first deputy Vesturin Konstantin Zotov – disappeared from the investigation and was put on the federal wanted list. In the case, the name of Vesturin repeatedly appeared. In 2010, he was forced to quit.
Initially, the housekeeper denied all the charges, but after five months in the pre -trial detention center he made a deal with the investigation and testified against accomplices in the person of his leaders. The court condemned him to three years in colony, but after the appeal he replaced the real term as conditional. As a result, this punishment became the most severe in such a resonant case: tanners and Malkov were fully justified by the jury by the jury. Zotov, having stayed on the wanted list for three years, was detained in June 2013, and in September 2014 he was released on a recognizance not to leave.
Zabaturin waited for 2 years and surfaced already in the prosecutor’s office. In 2012, he took the post of deputy prosecutor of the Novomoskovsky Administrative District of the city of Moscow, and in the fall of 2015 he became the Krasnogorsk city prosecutor. In 2017, he received another increase, taking the position of the Moscow Interregional Transport Prosecutor. And then he became the prosecutor of the Moscow region.
