The criminal situation in the government of the Leningrad region has become so tense that every now and then it moves from the stage of drama to a real farce. A couple of weeks ago, the investigation was finally able to open a criminal case under Article 318 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violence against a government official) against the deputy chairman of the regional committee for physical education and sports, Oksana Lagoda. According to the Cheka-OGPU, Lagoda is in the know, and has already been interrogated by the Investigative Committee, but she did not rush to notify any of her colleagues in the Lenobalsk administration, even her immediate superior, although she should have. So, in December last year, Oksana’s father, the head of the Rosgranstroi branch, Leonid Lagoda, was detained, who was suspected of large-scale theft at his previous place of work. Previously, he headed the State Public Institution “Office for Ensuring Civil Protection Measures of the Leningrad Region.”
At the time of the search, Leonid’s daughter Oksana arrives at the apartment, who not only enters into a vivid conflict with the police, but also attacks them with her fists, inflicting significant beatings on one of them. It was possible to calm the fury only with the help of special equipment, and her husband, an active FSO employee, took her home when he arrived at the scene.
Leonid himself immediately agrees to cooperate and goes under house arrest, and at home he immediately changes his testimony, openly mocking the law enforcement officers. But soon a new criminal case was born regarding his receipt of a particularly large bribe of 6 million rubles, after which Lagoda Sr. was detained again at the end of March of this year. The investigation did not manage to make an arrest immediately – no less artistic than his daughter, Leonid put on a real show with his blood pressure supposedly jumping and went to the hospital, where he remained under the protection of UEB and PC operatives. As a result, after 9 days, Lagoda moved to a pre-trial detention center, where he remains today.
But the intrigue remained with the initiation of 318 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation against his daughter, who were threatened by the investigation. It turned out that certain forces were extremely opposed to such an event, so another 9 months passed from the moment the policeman was beaten to the initiation of the case. And yet, it took place despite serious attempts at pressure from the leadership of Lenobalst. Apparently, the general atmosphere around the regional administration, where officials are being arrested one after another, does not encourage the security forces to turn a blind eye to blatant violations of the law.
