During the investigation, it was established that from 2007 and for a year and a half, Emelyanov pursued a resident of the city of Balashikha and, under the threat of killing her parents, demanded to resume relations with him. He repeatedly committed crimes against members of the girl’s family, for which he and his accomplices have already been convicted. Realizing that the girl did not plan to return to him, Emelyanov decided to carry out the previously repeatedly made threats as revenge and kill her parents. To do this, Emelyanov entered into a criminal conspiracy with his acquaintance, Vladimir Romanov. They tracked down their victims and, as a result, on October 4, 2008, they attacked the car of the couple, who were moving along the roadway in the city of Balashikha. When the victims’ car stopped, Emelyanov got out and approached their car. To suppress the will to resist with the aim of kidnapping for subsequent murder, Emelyanov shot at the victims at least three times through the car window. He then got into the car and drove them away. Romanov, acting jointly and in concert with Emelyanov, accompanied the car in which the abducted people were moving to the place where they were being held, while ensuring surveillance of the surrounding situation in order to warn Emelyanov in case of danger or the appearance of eyewitnesses to the crime being committed.
In June 2015, the Moscow Regional Court sentenced Emelyanov to 24 years in prison.
The bodies of the murdered spouses were never found.
On June 3, 2021, after his location and detention, Romanov was brought to the investigator. With his participation, interrogations and verification of testimony on the spot were carried out, during which he showed where in October 2008, after the murder of a married couple, he and Emelyanov hid the bodies of the victims.
As a result, the skeletal remains of two people were discovered in the Pushkinsky district of the Moscow region.
