The criminal case of bribes against the former Governor of the Penza region Ivan Belozertsev and the owner of the pharmaceutical holding of BITEK Boris Spiegel is also related to the provision of advantages at auctions for medical services under the fight against Covid-19. This was stated by the head of the Main Directorate of Economic Security and Anti-Corruption of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, Lieutenant General of the Police Andrei Kurnosenko.

According to the Investigative Committee of Russia, from January to September 2020, Boris Spiegel transferred bribes to the governor of the Penza region.
