The Khimkinsky City Court issued a conviction in a criminal case against 43-year-old Alexei German. He was convicted of committing a crime under Part 4 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy on an especially large scale).
The court found that in October 2017, Alexei German provided the head specialist of the Investigation Department of the Department of Budgeting and the Economics of the Economics Department of the Federal State Unitary Economy “Center for Operation of Objects of ground space infrastructure” Information about the control of the contract for the supply of materials and equipment for the needs of the institution and ensured its fictitious conclusion.
For allegedly delivered goods and equipment on the basis of a fictitious contract, funds in the amount of more than 7.6 million rubles were illegally transferred.
In August 2018, the verdict of the Khimkinsky City Court of the Moscow Region, the chief specialist of the investment department of the Department of Budgeting and the Economics Department of Economics was found guilty of a crime and he was sentenced to 3 years in prison with serving a penalty in a penal colony of general regime.
Alexei German disappeared from the preliminary investigation authorities, in December 2018 he was put on an international wanted list, and a year later he was detained on the island of Tenerife in Spain. In April 2021, the competent authorities of the Kingdom of Spain satisfied the request of the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Russian Federation on its extradition to Russia to prosecute.
Herman was previously prosecuted for attempting fraud, abuse of powers and illegal storage of firearms.
Given the position of the prosecutor’s office, the court sentenced Alexei Herman to 3 years in prison with serving a general regime in a penal colony.
The court took the time of detention of Alexei German in custody in the territory of a foreign state and during the preliminary investigation.
The sentence did not enter into legal force.
