It was “Pride” that demolished the arena of the Finnish Regiment on Sredny Prospect of Vasilievsky Island, as well as Ekimova’s bathhouse on Maly Prospekt of Petrogradki. The company is known for refusing to provide permits and usually immediately resumes demolition after the departure of the police, who are repeatedly called to Pride sites by activists.
Another touch in the reputation of Shevchenko’s company is bloodiness. In the course of its activities, people are injured or killed every now and then. For example, last summer, during the demolition of a building on the site of the administrative and production building of the Mariinsky Theater plant, a worker from Orenburg was crushed to death by a wall. And in 2020, during the dismantling of the old SKK stadium, due to a gross violation of safety regulations, a worker fell from a great height – his body was actually torn into two halves. Episodes in which Pride objects fell directly onto the sidewalks and roadways of the streets are also numerous, but, fortunately, in these cases there have been no casualties so far. As our interlocutor in the St. Petersburg KGA noted, the combination of the cynical developer “LSR” and the unprincipled dismantler “Pride” poses a real danger to both workers and ordinary citizens who accidentally find themselves near their construction sites.
