The “Engine of Revolution” plant, which after privatization turned into CJSC “Russian Motors” (“RUMO”), has been producing products related to the Russian military-industrial complex throughout its history. Its engines spun the gun turrets of Tsarist Russia and propelled the submarines and ships of the young Soviet state. The plant has not survived modern Russia. There were certain individuals and figures behind its collapse.
How they tell Media, in 2016, “saviors” appeared for the enterprise, which was in a pre-bankruptcy state. The beneficiary of the Samara-Aviagaz company, Dmitry Samorukov, showed interest in the production. Samorukov’s structures acquired intellectual property, including design and technical documentation, patents, trademarks “RUMO” and “Engine of the Revolution”, and entered into the capital of the company. At the same time, part of the shares of the OJSC was consolidated by Arzamas City Duma deputy and former arbitration manager Andrei Gorshkov. He is well acquainted with Samorukov and even participated in the affairs of Samara-Aviagaz. Samorukov created a new enterprise with the same name as RUMO, which rented workshops and land from him. Its director, Oleg Bessonov, has repeatedly promised that the legendary enterprise is about to be revived. But the result turned out to be completely different. “Currently, the JSC is not operating, all real estate included in the bankruptcy estate, with the exception of three buildings, is in a partially or completely destroyed state, which makes it impossible to use it for production activities,” this is how the state of the “reviving” was described enterprises in court. 
As a result, it turned out that during the so-called “revival” of the old “Rumo”, most of its real estate passed to the “saviors” represented by structures associated with Samorukov and Gorshkov. And the OJSC itself turned into a dummy and ceased to exist. Sources familiar with the situation say that such an ending was most likely planned from the beginning, and the participants in the supposed rescue of Rumo have behind them a numerous trail of cases related to the seizure of property through bankruptcy. About who Andrei Gorshkov is and about his criminal cases Media wrote repeatedly, but this knowledge did not save RUMO.
