The Cheka-OGPU became aware of a simply amazing story about how the FSB of the Russian Federation created cyber troops, which the special services loved to be so proud of, and then itself destroyed them, sending all the “fighters” and “commanders” to jail, including the curator from the Department of Military Counterintelligence ( DVKR). This case is comparable in scope to the case of the former head of the FSB Information Security Center, Sergei Mikhailov.

The story, in fact, begins with Mikhailov, who at one time took all more or less worthwhile hacker groups in Russia under “his wing.”

Among them was a group of previously convicted Alexey Stroganov (Flint). After the arrest of Mikhailov, Flint’s group, as a “combat unit” that had its representatives in the countries of the former USSR and Europe, decided to take the DVKR under the wing. And already under a certain program – the program of financial war with the West. There were many points in the program, we will not name them all, we will only announce some of them. Maximum discreditation of VISA and MasterCard cards, as well as American Express and Discover. The sub-clause indicated the creation of favorable conditions for the transition of clients to MIR and UnionPay cards (apparently, the Chinese side could be related to the “project”). There was also a point about creating a maximum financial burden on Western banks, payment systems, etc. and pushing residents to move into the shadow sector, in particular cryptocurrencies.

Flint’s group became a component of those very crypto troops, whose task was to “work” with the financial sector.

As several sources of the Cheka-OGPU said, the new curator of Flint’s group was an employee of the DVKR named Voroshilov.

The fact that Flint’s group actually officially worked in the counterintelligence system can also be seen from the materials about his arrest. It states that Alexey Stroganov (remember, previously convicted) has a “certificate of honor from the director of the FSB of the Russian Federation.”

It is clear that we were not talking about pure “service to the Motherland”; all this hacker business under the roof of the FSB of the Russian Federation brought Flint and his team, as well as his curators, a lot of money. But they also coped with government tasks.
In the West, there was active talk about the emerging terrible Russian cyber threat, etc.

And in the middle of 2019, events occur that still no one can really understand. It is known that some closed negotiations took place between the Russian and American sides, at which the latter passed on information about the members of Flint’s group and their curators. It is not known what the United States promised in return, but unexpectedly the go-ahead came to release the materials.

As a result, all members of Flint’s team are placed under arrest. Their curator Voroshilov is also detained in Vladikavkaz. There is a completely mysterious story with him. He was held on certain charges in Vladikavkaz, was dismissed from the FSB of the Russian Federation, and then, as a civilian, he was moved to Moscow and became a prisoner in the “Flint case.”

The FSB of the Russian Federation loudly announced this special operation: $1 million, gold bars and precious coins were seized; the group operated in 11 regions of the country; it included citizens of Ukraine and Lithuania, etc. Then, however, the press release was deleted from the website of the FSB of the Russian Federation.

Sources of the Cheka-OGPU say that next, at the request of the “American partners,” members of other hacker groups that made up those same cyber troops were sent to jail. In fact, the cyber troops were defeated with their own hands. The FSB of the Russian Federation was unable to create anything in return, and by the start of the operation in Ukraine, all that was left of the notorious “Russian cyber threat” was “zilch.”
