Kashkina was charged under the not-so-usual Article 183 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation – disclosure of tax secrets, and now she is placed in a pre-trial detention center. Employees of the economic police and the regional FSB Directorate already came to the tax office in April of this year, but then, thanks to the work of their lawyers, she managed to maintain her status as a witness. True, I had to quit my job literally one day. At the same time, searches took place in the neighboring cottage of Kashkina’s former subordinate Olga Romenskaya. It was about receiving money from a number of commercial organizations for avoiding inspections by the Federal Tax Service, and the “subscription fee” from only one of them amounted to 1.3 million rubles. per month. As a result of the investigative actions, Romenskaya was arrested for giving a large bribe and, at least until recently, was in jail.
Let us note that the organizations worked in a neighboring region – St. Petersburg, where Kashkina had previously been deputy head of the Federal Tax Service for many years. So it is possible that in the case materials the appearance of persons from the tax inspectorate staff of the northern capital.
