The Cheka-OGPU managed to talk with the relatives of one of the Airborne Forces servicemen, who was seriously wounded during the fighting in Ukraine and is now in one of the Russian hospitals. They reported what the wounded man told them. From his narration it becomes clear about the tactics of the Ukrainian armed forces during the first days of the war and the mistakes of the Russian troops.

According to the serviceman, no one deceived them or told them about the exercises. They were informed that they were being sent for a special operation to another country. Despite the fact that only contract soldiers were sent, not all of them were ready for such a campaign. Some expected that the special operation would follow the Crimean scenario – it would be necessary to enter cities and take control of important objects. Much resistance is not expected, especially from the Ukrainian Armed Forces. If there are problems, it will be with the nationalist units.

In fact, it turned out that they entered the cities relatively calmly, and in the cities they began to be targeted at people from houses, including residential ones, where Ukrainian forces had set up firing points. “We asked that these “points” be suppressed, but we were told that there was an order to fire at objects in the residential sector exclusively from small arms and, covering ourselves with such fire, to advance towards the set goals. And then the points will be “cleaned up”. But nothing could be done with small arms in such a situation. Moreover, the Ukrainians managed to place entire systems in the premises.”

As a result, a shell was aimed at the car where the serviceman was located from the building. He himself miraculously survived, having received serious injuries. Everyone else in the car died. The serviceman hid in a ditch next to the road, where he was noticed by tank crews who arrived later, “guys from Buryatia.” “They also began to receive targeted fire from the residential sector. I tell them that you are not answering. They also referred to the order not to use any weapons other than small arms in the residential sector.” The wounded man was first taken to the DPR, and from there to one hospital in Russia.
A source from the Cheka-OGPU confirmed that in the first days of the war there was an order to fire only small arms at points of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the residential sector. All this, together with attacks by mobile groups of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on engineering and rear columns, led to the fact that the main losses of Russian troops occurred in the first days of the war. Now the tactics have changed. Cities are completely cordoned off, possible escape routes are mined, and targeted operations are carried out. This allows you to avoid losses. They are also now starting to launch humanitarian corridors, thanks to which the surrounded cities must leave the majority of civilians.
