The Cheka-OGPU managed to communicate with the injured resident of the village of Petropavlovka, where a Russian Defense Ministry rocket exploded this morning. 61-year-old pensioner Natalia Pechneva, like many of her neighbors, was at home on January 2. Her husband was sleeping and she was doing housework. At about 8.30, just when the woman was about to go out into the yard, a huge explosion occurred outside the window. The arrival was so powerful that Pobeda Street literally turned into ruins.

“While I was getting ready, I heard a strong rumble, the sound of an airplane. Low, close, as if falling. I’ve heard planes flying before, but this time it was very loud. And then there was such a terrible explosion that I fell. Glass was shattered all around, and the fragments went deep into my leg. When I went to the ambulance, I saw: the entire roof had been torn out, the fences had been demolished, all the sheds on the street had crumbled, only the skeleton of the neighbors’ car remained, the house closest to the crater was already scorched. All the residents were at home and only a miracle saved them: our houses were all old, from the days of the state farm. They were built from blocks and the ceilings, accordingly, were also block. So the blocks survived, it’s scary to think that if there were other materials, everyone would have been buried alive. The school was also destroyed. Near the club, a large fragment of a rocket was found, no one is saying what kind of missile it is.”
