The Cheka-OGPU managed to communicate with one of the last interlocutors of the American WSJ journalist Evan Gershkovich, who was arrested on charges of espionage. Legislative Assembly deputy from Yekaterinburg Vyacheslav Wegner said that he came to a meeting with Gershkovich wearing a T-shirt with a bear, a Z sign, insulted the journalist and his colleagues, and deliberately provoked conflict. However, as Wegner regrets, Gershkovich did not succumb to provocation and even drank cognac with the deputy. The brave Z-patriot is convinced that from the very beginning he recognized a “CIA man” in the photojournalist accompanying Gershkovich, since he refused to drink cognac with him. 
Apparently, the same method was used to identify the “spy” in Gershkovich and the FSB officers of the Russian Federation who detained him, which, according to Wegner, took place around 8-9 pm in the area of one of the restaurants.
Wegner admits that the journalist was interested in Yekaterinburg as a city where opposition sentiments are strong. I asked about the situation with the Yeltsin Center. There were also a lot of questions about PMCs Wagner and Prigozhin, since Wegner communicated with Prigozhin. In particular, Prigozhin admitted to Wegner that he was removed from recruiting prisoners and he stopped caring about the prisoners.
