The head of the Moscow Metro department, former deputy mayor of Novokuznetsk, Alexander Popov, told investigators his version of what happened. The man several times either confessed to the murder or refused to testify.
This time, the official noted that back on August 31, his wife was offended by him – he promised his wife a holiday in an elite hotel in Turkey for her birthday. Ksenia Popova wanted a certain hotel, her husband promised to book the required dates, but he delayed it, and there were no rooms left in the desired hotel. The wife found out about this, a conflict ensued, which escalated into loud swearing. In a quarrel, Ksenia began to pack her things, telling her husband that since he was not able to take her on the vacation she had dreamed of, she would go alone. According to Popov, he simply pushed his wife, and then an argument ensued, which escalated into a fight. It all ended with the death of Ksenia. The husband couldn’t think of anything better than to dismember the body and carry it in bags into the river. This is Alexander Popov’s version.
Let us remember that after the murder, the official came up with a story about his wife’s vacation in Dubai, conducted correspondence and publications on Instagram on her behalf, so that her relatives would not notice that Ksenia Popova was missing. Because of this, the crime was solved only 6 months after the murder.
