Ukrainian citizens Kaev and Kovalsky, who were previously in detention centers in other cities, were brought to Lefortovo. Both were arrested at different times by the Kyiv District Court of Simferopol and until recently were kept under arrest in Crimea. Kaev and Kovalsky are accused of some kind of “attempted act of international terrorism.”
As the Cheka-OGPU previously reported, a resident of Melitopol, Igor Gorlov, was taken to Lefortovo. A year ago, he disappeared at the same time as the chairman of the Melitopol Kung Fu Federation, Andrei Golubev. Golubev’s wife wrote in April 2022 about the abduction of her husband, a former Ukrainian border guard, by unknown security forces.
Also, Ukrainian citizen Yanina Akulova was previously brought to Lefortovo.
US citizen, former top manager of VAM Group Gene (Evgeniy) Spektor, was also taken to the pre-trial detention center. In June 2021, he was found guilty of giving bribes (Part 3 of Article 291.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) to Anastasia Alekseeva, the ex-assistant of former Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich.
Also detained in Lefortovo is an activist from St. Petersburg, Daniil Krinari, who was detained in the Belarusian Grodno and handed over to Russia. He is charged under Article 275.1 of the Criminal Code (Collaboration on a confidential basis with a foreign state). The activist’s wife linked the detention to the opposition telegram channel run by her husband.
