The Cheka-OGPU has learned new details about Anton Babutsidze, the former director of the Lipetsk Pipe Company, who is now trying, with the help of foreign comrades, to seize a Russian strategic enterprise.

Anton Babutsidze, a Georgian citizen permanently residing in Switzerland, is known in our country for systematically bringing enterprises to the point of deliberate bankruptcy. The fraudster has more than a dozen bankrupt companies on his account: Tula Industrialist Bank, NPO Gidrougol, Anzherskaya-Yuzhnaya Mine, Efremovskoye SPP, Suvorov Poultry Farm, Chermettrade LLC and others. In 2013, Man and the Law already spoke about Babutsidze. Then the governor of the Kemerovo region, Aman Tuleyev, turned to the Prosecutor General’s Office with a request to put the fraudster on the federal wanted list. But the tycoon managed to escape this accusation too. As a result, the total amount of accounts payable of all bankrupt enterprises amounted to more than 20 billion rubles. The same thing should have happened to the system-forming domestic enterprise “Svobodny Sokol”. Having taken over the post of general director of LTK Svobodny Sokol in March last year, Babutsidze began selling the pipes that the plant produces for export to Europe through his front companies at a price below cost. The damage from such transactions amounted to more than 140 million rubles. In addition to his native Switzerland, Poland was one of the active destinations for withdrawing money. By creating a company with a surprisingly similar name, “Svobodny Sokol SP.ZO.O,” Babutsidze secured for himself a “reserve airfield” not far from the Russian borders.

After the change of ownership of Sokol, Babutsidze fled to Switzerland, fearing an investigation into the crimes committed, but after the start of the SVO, he saw an opportunity to curry favor with the Europeans and secure for himself not only a comfortable old age, but also, finally, EU citizenship. With the help of Lithuanian citizen Vaida Narmonaite, Georgians are trying to use the Russian court as an instrument to seize an enterprise through deception, forgery and giving false testimony.
