The incident occurred in the morning of August 12 at the Miami club in Urzuf, near Mariupol. The soldiers of unit 71718 (Shali, Chechnya) rested there, mostly former prisoners who had entered into liberation contracts with the Ministry of Defense, who later explained that they “sat in the forest for four months and got the opportunity to rest.”
Two campaigns sat next to each other. The first ones are natives of the southern regions. The second are colleagues from the company attached to Akhmat. According to testimony, the latter drank a bottle of whiskey between the three of them. At the closing of the establishment (closer to 4 a.m.), a conflict broke out between the guests in uniform – 25-year-old resident of the Kaliningrad region Sergei Alikhanov, convicted of theft, and 30-year-old native of Dagestan, military policeman (formerly military unit 63354, Buinaksk). In the fight, the prisoners were more convincing. But this was not the end of the conflict.
The denouement was a scene on the street, during which Akaev opened fire with an AK-74. Alikhanov was killed on the spot. A soldier from his company, a fellow countryman and also convicted of theft, 26-year-old Vladimir Evseenko (pictured), tried to stand up for Sergei. He wanted to kick the machine gun, but was wounded in the thigh, shin and arm. Then Akaev continued firing indiscriminately at everything he saw. A group of VP unit 71718 came running at the sounds of machine gun fire, and Akaev opened fire on the group. As a result, the shooter was killed.
Two medical teams arrived at the scene, confirmed the death of two men and one wounded man was taken to a local hospital while intoxicated.
Since the incident was immediately classified, it is quite difficult to find out the number of civilian casualties. At the moment, the Cheka-OGPU knows with certainty that at least one girl was bandaged and given medical assistance.
