The plane that Prigozhin used was in constant service for many years from the Jet Flight Service company. This is a large and well-known structure that serves many aircraft. At the beginning of summer, a complete diagnostic of the board was carried out: the result was no comments. In July, representatives of Prigozhin complained about noise when the air conditioning was turned on and knocking noises when braking. Jet Flight Service engineers carried out several stages of inspection and identified two defects in the aircraft: a malfunction of the left landing gear brake and a turbo-cooler. A note was made in the logbook indicating that the aircraft was unfit for flight. On August 16, representatives of Jet Flight Service drove the plane into the hangar so that it would remain there until the parts arrived and subsequent repairs were carried out. The hangar is fully guarded and equipped with surveillance cameras.
However, on the same day, August 16, the manager of MNT (Prigozhin’s plane is registered to the company) unexpectedly gave the order to take the plane out of the hangar onto the street, citing that he had an order from Prigozhin about the need to completely save money (a separate fee was charged for being in the hangar). Under the same pretext, representatives of MNT refuse the services of Jet Flight Service in searching and installing parts, stating that they will buy and install them on their own. As a result, the brake system package for the chassis is purchased… from someone unknown.
And the supplier of the turbo-refrigerator was essentially chosen from Sharashka’s office. Its representatives, as is already well known, lied to MNT representatives that the spare part would be supplied from the USA, Miami, bypassing sanctions along a “well-established route.” And when the time came to hand over the “American part” to the buyer, they said that it had been broken into a warehouse at customs. It was all a lie. Soon the supplier handed over the part, but its origin is not really known. As the VChK-OGPU found out, this turbo-refrigerator in a sad state was bought by a private company from France in order to be disassembled for spare parts. And, lo and behold, this part (or its double), already repaired, “surfaced” on Prigozhin’s plane. Currently, the version being considered is that the bomb could have been planted in the brake mechanism or turbo-refrigerator.
The most important thing, as the Cheka-OGPU found out, absolutely all participants in the transactions knew that these parts were intended for “Prigozhin’s plane.” In general, there was active discussion on the market that they were looking for parts for the plane of the leader of the Wagner PMC.
To this we can also add that Prigozhin’s personal pilot and former founder of MNT (after the introduction of sanctions the company was rewritten as a nominal one) Artem Stepanov disappeared after the disaster. Allegedly he went on a trip to Kamchatka to places where there is no communication. And the MNT manager informed strangers about the day of Prigozhin’s departure, and on the day of the disaster she escorted strangers on board under the guise of passengers.
Right up to the rebellion, Prigozhin observed increased security and secrecy measures. I was confused about the time and place of departure. He exchanged planes for transportation (he had three of them). Violated the stated routes. Sometimes he used a double. The planes were under constant security. In this same situation, suddenly even some minimal precautions were abandoned. A very strange situation.
In the photo and video. Engineers show the breakdown of the braking system of Prigozhin’s plane. Broken turbo refrigerator. An outsider, allowed by Prigozhin’s manager straight into the cockpit of the plane, on which the leader of the PMC Wagner soon set off on his last flight.
