The first to report violence on the part of the priest was his former assistant, Anton K. He himself suffered from the actions of the abbot and pointed to other victims.
This was in October 2022. Hegumen Anatoly kicked Anton out of the monastery after a quarrel, and then he received a complaint from a nun about the theft of 1.5 million rubles. Then they made a bravura announcement about the emergency reportage in the press center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the police reported on the capture of the thief and showed footage from inside the monastery. However, when they began to interrogate Anton, he told the operatives all their vile ins and outs about the victims.
The Cheka-OGPU became aware of the stories of the first two victims of the 85-year-old pedophile abbot Anatoly Suvorov.
One of them came to the monastery previously through guardians – parishioners of the TOC. They secretly brought the orphan Evgeniy K. from the Rostov region to the monastery in Orekhovo-Zuyevo, secretly from the supervisory authorities. After leaving the monastery, he was convicted of pedophilia.
The other is a resident of a town near Moscow. His father drank and died early, and his mother with many children at some point lost her mind and ended up in a mental hospital. Andrey G. was taken in by his grandmother when he was in elementary school. The woman believed in God and on one of her pilgrimage trips she met other believers who invited her to the monastery of Abbot Anatoly Suvorov. Andrei’s grandmother tried to sell the apartment and dacha in order to transfer money to the priest, but her relatives stopped her. They saved the property, but they didn’t save the boy. About two years ago, Andrei was severely beaten by a friend of the abbot, and after that, with the help of his aunt, he was able to escape from the monastery. Suvorov then tried to pursue the young man, offering help in joining the security forces thanks to his connections. But Andrei refused to return and joined the army.
They were both interrogated by investigators and the boys confirmed the facts of molestation.
