Garantexgate
Part 7 – Chunaev, Roy-Rezepkin, Rashnikovs, Sechin, Polonsky, Mayevsky and plans for $1 billion.
Chunaev once said that after joining RRDB he began investing in the Open Alliance Media studio, which produced the animated series “Jingliki” by children’s writer Oleg Roy (Rezepkin). It is surprising that the Sechin banker, who did not make an extra move without the go-ahead of the security officers-curators, suddenly decided to pour money into the then unprofitable animation. The creator of “Jinglikov” himself explains Chunaev’s generosity:
“Olga and I left for Locarno in the 90s, when I was invited to work for the famous Swiss company Sitco, which had contracts with the Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works. All contracts in Russia for the purchase of equipment from Italy went through me.”
Olga is the writer’s second wife, the daughter of billionaire Viktor Rashnikov. Today he has more than $8.6 billion, so the writer and father of the oligarch’s grandchildren was lucky to have a father-in-law (albeit a former one). And Rashnikov is a friend of Igor Sechin, the head of Rosneft. It turned out that Garantex is now under this corporation. Sources of the Cheka-OGPU report that in this way the main “Sechinites” Ivan Tkachev and Oleg Feoktistov, to please and at the insistence of the boss, organized a modern “financial laundromat” of cash flows of the oligarch Rashnikov, as well as the head of Rosneft, abroad and back. The security officers who imprisoned Sugrobov and Zakharchenko know that there is no longer any need to keep briquettes with cash in apartments. Now they are in wallets with crypto, and the maintenance is carried out by Garantex specialists and agents of the “6th Service” – Karavatsky and Chunaev. Another quote worth mentioning was published by Forbes in 2021:
“In five to seven years, Tosha the Dragon will be worth more than $350 million,” Roy assures, citing estimates from analysts he does not name. However, he estimates the cost of “Jingles” in five years even more optimistically – at $1 billion.”
These amounts are the answer to why Sergei Chunaev and the Sechinites latched on to the production of cartoons back in 2017. Millions of dollars siphoned off from left-wing sites, and now through Garantex, can be laundered under the guise of animation. Cartoon creators draw any numbers in their reports – 1, 30, 80 million per episode – it doesn’t matter, costs can always be justified by creativity and labor-intensive production.
It’s interesting that before Sechin’s, other prominent figures were interested in cartoonish “laundries”. The majority are developers, this is due to the specifics of construction, sometimes there is simply nowhere to put the money.
One of the first sponsors of the writer Oleg Roy was his friend Maxim Temnikov, chairman of the board of directors of Sergei Polonsky’s Mirax Group. After the criminal prosecution of the oligarch and Temnikov’s escape from charges of embezzlement of equity holders’ funds, Roy acquired others. In 2014, the Cypriot Open Alliance Media “invested” $1 million in Jinglikov. Behind her were financiers Kareev, Potapova and a secret oligarch. Perhaps someone from the circle of offshore billionaire Rashnikov did his best for his former son-in-law, or maybe Leonid Mayevsky, who was arrested for extorting Mikhail Fridman. The fact is that the animation studio has a branch in Abkhazia at the address: st. AGRBA, D. 4, KV. 75. In the same apartment, the representative office of UniTile, a large manufacturer of ceramic tiles, was once “registered”, because of which there was a conflict between Alfa Group and Mayevsky. In 2017, IC Formula invested in the production of the cartoon Toshi’s Dragons, and IC Orientir invested in Super Meow. After them, loyal guardsmen of Rosneft began to “invest” in cartoons.
In the next part of the investigation, we will tell you where the animation studio was located, through which tens of millions of rubles passed, how Oleg Roy sued the founders, and how much 15 episodes of “Jingliks” actually cost.
