The Cheka-OGPU became aware of two more cases of illegal arms trafficking in the front-line areas of the Belgorod region, directly related to the special operation on the territory of Ukraine. In November 2022, a local resident, while collecting humanitarian aid for the Russian military, realized that he could buy firearms and ammunition from his colleague. He brought it an hour later and offered to buy a silent pistol PB (6-P-9) with cartridges for 35 thousand rubles.

The convict purchased a weapon and kept it in his yard under a tree until the police came to him on New Year’s Eve. The man voluntarily gave them a pistol with ammunition. During the investigation, he admitted guilt and entered into a pre-trial agreement. The court examined the criminal case in a special manner and sentenced the Belgorod resident to a year of suspended correctional labor with a probationary period of two years. The seized pistol and ammunition were destroyed.

In October 2022, a local taxi driver received an order to take military personnel to Moscow, but agreed to take them only to Voronezh. He picked up four men in military uniform in the Krasnogvardeisky district of the Belgorod region, and on the way, one of the passengers offered to give the driver a hand fragmentation grenade from the Russian Geographical Society.

The taxi driver agreed and, after completing the order, brought the donated grenade to the office, where he showed it to his colleagues and gave it to one of them. The latter put the ammunition in a closet in his garage, where police later found it. The taxi driver who gave the military a lift ended up receiving three and a half years probation, and his colleague received two years probation.
