The Cheka-OGPU became aware of the circumstances of the death of a mobilized man from Tuva in the Novosibirsk region, which was reported to the head of the republic, Vyacheslav Khovalyg. The serviceman died on October 20, 2022, after falling under a train at the Chik station in the Kochenevsky district.

In a press release from the Tuvan government on October 24, 2022, it was reported that “this is a fatal incident due to the use of alcoholic beverages.” The investigation was carried out by the Main Military Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, as well as the Main Military Prosecutor’s Office for the Central Military District.

After the emergency at the Chik station, another mobilized man, who was helping the police collect parts of the body of a deceased Tuvan, attacked three colleagues with a knife near a pedestrian bridge over the railway tracks. The attacker thought they had alcohol in the bag and demanded that it be removed. They began to laugh in response, and then the military man stabbed one of the mobilized men in the back, causing him serious harm to his health.

The package did not contain alcohol, but construction foam, which his brother brought to the conscript so that the military could seal the cracks in the carriage where they lived before being sent to Ukraine. The attacker, who is a combat veteran, was diagnosed with a mental disorder that does not exclude sanity. The court sentenced him to three years in prison.
