Eduard Budantsev is a person extremely close not only to the Directorate M of the FSB of the Russian Federation, but also to a number of other services, including the Fifth Service. On the other hand, oligarchs of the highest level have been on his subscription for a long time. Many doors are open to Budantsev. It costs him nothing to call the Kremlin commandant and ask “Seryoga [тот, который Хлебников]let the guys through, my guests, we will be in such and such cars.” Therefore, it is not surprising that the fantastic plan of the Fifth Service was entrusted to him. He took the founder of Group IB, Ilya Sachkov, as his assistant.
As a result, Budantsev (representing the interests of the 5th service of the FSB “DOI”), together with Sachkov, began to implement a scenario for the creation of an international conference “Cryptosecurity and investment protection.” It seems like an ordinary event, however… The purpose of creating this annual conference was to identify all persons who are internationally associated with the field of information security, develop the necessary information and try to take the actions of the world giants under some operational control (and who knows, maybe even their recruitment ). The venue and headquarters were to be London. Sachkov went there several times to organize this event for him. Budantsev’s son from his first wife, who permanently resides in London, helped him. Money for the primary events was given by the oligarch from Kazakhstan Kenes Rakishev, who is closely connected with Budanev and owes a lot to Budantsev.
The official organizer of the event was a certain ANO “International Institute for Sustainable Development”.
On the Russian side, Budantsev-Sachkov’s plans included attracting “sponsors” – Alisher Usmanov (where would we be without his “Citadel”), Vekselberg (Skolkovo), Oleg Tinkov (well, it’s clear where he’ll go), Chemezov (there’s generally endless money there). And the negotiations either directly with them or with their representatives went with a bang.
And they decided to make the honorary participants of the annual conference: Arkady Volozh, Ginni Rometty (IBM), Jack Ma (it’s already getting funny), Bill Gates (even funnier), Sergey Brin (not funny anymore) and even Zuckerberg and Elon Musk (we envy the imagination of the Fifth Service , Budantsev and Sachkov), and also Pavel Durov.
Naturally, it was immediately clear to a normal person that the dream was unrealizable, but who is stopping (as we see from the story with the neighboring country) the fantasy of the DPI and its beneficiaries.
How much money was received for this project? How many operational reports were “born” for the Kremlin about how it is successfully moving and what successes the Fifth Service managed to achieve in establishing control over Elon Musk and Bill Gates.
When it became clear that the Kremlin was being reported in complete disarray, the oligarchs’ money for the project had gone to no one knows where, and there would be no conference with the participation of Zuckerberg and Durov, they blamed everything on an “information leak.” And then Sachkov, the “weak link,” went behind the sieve.
