The Cheka-OGPU became aware of a case where a serviceman beat a man in the Yaroslavl region and justified his actions in court by the fact that the victim allegedly spoke negatively about the participants in the war. Late in the evening of June 24, 2022, in the village of Nagorye of Pereslavl-Zalessky, contract soldier Vladislav Dorogov, near one of the houses on Oktyabrskaya Street, dealt a strong blow to a man, after which he disappeared in an unknown direction.

The victim was hospitalized at the Pereslavl Central District Hospital, where he subsequently underwent surgery. A criminal case was opened against the military man for causing moderate harm to health (Part 1 of Article 112 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). In court, Dorogov did not admit his guilt and stated that the victim, knowing that he was a military serviceman, “began to speak negatively about the Russian military who are taking part in a special military operation.” “Indignant at this behavior,” Dorogov approached him and hit him.

At the same time, witnesses during the trial stated that the defendant was initially aggressive and insulted those sitting on the terrace of the house. The victim, it follows from their testimony, “turned to Dorogov and extended his hand to him for a handshake.” “Having approached the latter, the victim unexpectedly received one strong blow with the fist of his right hand,” follows from the indictment. The court sentenced the military man to a fine of 150 thousand rubles. On March 14, the verdict came into force.
