The Cheka-OGPU became aware of a behind-the-scenes scandal on religious grounds over a high-ranking favorite and subordinate of the assistant to the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, Irina Volk. In the holy of holies – at the police headquarters on Zhitnaya Street in Moscow, the special regiment officers guarding the facility began to regularly pay attention to a woman in a black Orthodox cassock. Against the background of white collars (the everyday uniform of most employees is classic) and uniforms with shoulder straps, the lady in monastic robes stood out too much. So much so that the duty shift staff reported the dress code violator to the appropriate place. But after some time, the fighters who encroached on spiritual bonds received an unexpected answer from their senior ranks. The providence in the cassock turned out to be a high-ranking employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (press service), Colonel Yulia Makartseva. And, as it turned out, the guards were not the first to ring the bells. It turned out that the colleagues of the deeply religious employee had already tried to carefully inform their superiors about Makartseva’s arrival. They complained about the smell from Yulia’s church robes, which she does not change even to participate in work meetings, about the incense and paraphernalia in the office where she sits. But confession led nowhere. And all because Makartseva has an excellent relationship with Irina Volk and prays for her. She has earned the favor of her boss, since the major general, it turns out, also believes in God. They say that the minister’s assistant likes it when someone lights candles in the church for her and orders the corresponding rituals. Because of this, the church-going employee of the police press service is under the personal protection of Irina Volk. And the soldiers were ordered not to notice Yulia Makartseva in whatever she appeared in the service.
