The Basmanny Court of Moscow began to hear a criminal case against the director of the research center for the creation of weapons of military and special equipment of the Russian Academy of Missile and Artillery Sciences (RARAN) Andrei Grudzinsky and his adviser Vadim Fridland.

Grudzinsky was arrested last summer; the Cheka-OGPU was the first to report his detention and arrest.

One of the grounds for his arrest was, among other things, the testimony of an adviser followed by a confrontation between the defendants. Friedland was able to avoid arrest and was free until his trial. He previously worked at the 3rd Central Research Institute of the Russian Ministry of Defense. He is a corresponding member of RARAN in the department “Military-technical policy and military economics”. By the way, Alexey Ulyukaev is also a corresponding member of the same department, but he has long been far from politics, and economics too.

Grudzinsky and Friedland are charged with two counts of corruption crimes, classified under Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud). The investigation of the case was carried out by the 517th military department of the RF IC based on materials from the FSB.
