Let’s fill in the blanks:
The new head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations is registered in a high-rise building in Lyubertsy, near Moscow, in the village of Kraskovo. Drives a Porsche Cayenne.
There are questions about the apartment he bought in 2009 in Tyoply Stan. The cost of the apartment is 20 million rubles. He purchased the apartment from Agamed CJSC. CJSC Agamed is a structure affiliated with Mezhtopenergobank: this company received 320 million rubles in non-repayable loans from a financial institution. The bad loans were apparently turned into apartments, one of which went to Kurenkov. In 2012, Mezhtopenergobank demanded that the Agamed company repay the loans. But by that time the company no longer had any assets: they had been withdrawn several years before.
In 2017, Mezhtopenergobank’s license was taken away, and a criminal case was opened against its shareholders and top managers. They were accused of stealing 20 billion rubles under the guise of issuing loans. Behind “Agamed” was just one of the shareholders of “Mezhtopenergobank” – he, however, did not come under criminal prosecution.
Two months after the Deposit Insurance Agency began looking for money stolen from the bank, the future Minister of Emergency Situations sold the apartment to Valentina Polikanina. In the past, Polikanina headed the Petrovo-Dalnee sanatorium, which belongs to the Administration of the President of the Russian Federation.
Whether these are related events or random coincidences remains to be determined. For now, we are simply restoring the missing parts of the minister’s biography and information about his property/assets.
