The Arbitration Court of Kabardino-Balkaria will soon hold new hearings in the case of one of the largest bootlegging scams in Russian history. We are talking about the underground empire of Arsen Tsipinov – the vodka king, whose billion-dollar shadow empire allows him and his accomplices to lead a luxurious lifestyle.

The case of bringing Tsipinov to subsidiary liability for the debts of the Antares and Hermes Nika companies will be considered by Yuri Shokumov, deputy chairman of the KBR Arbitration Court. The judge does not hide his ambitions: he intends to eventually head the Kabardino-Balkarian arbitration. But it is precisely the unjust decision to which the judge is persuaded by “senior comrades” and “respected people” that can become an insurmountable obstacle to the coveted position.

A little background: Arsen Tsipinov and Igor Shusharev, under the cover of the ex-head of Rosalkogolregulirovanie Igor Chuyan, created an underground holding of distilleries. Enterprises did not pay taxes – billions, and also owed the same billions to their creditors. Once profitable businesses went bankrupt and people quit. Tsipinov and Shusharev now have fashionable offices in Moscow City, mansions in elite villages and huge sums in their accounts. The regional budget has nothing: the Federal Tax Service turned a blind eye to Tsipinov’s work.

In the courts, Tsipinov and Shusharev deny involvement in the underground empire. In the cases of some companies – Onyx, Antares, Hermes Nika – the arbitration court of Kabardino-Balkaria recognized the rightness of the plaintiffs and brought Tsipinov to subsidiary liability. The bootleggers even had to quickly transfer the property to their parents and friends. And then, despite the decision of the Supreme Court, the reverse process began. Thus, Judge Marchenko from the Sixteenth Arbitration Court of Appeal accepted Tsipinov’s application to review the determinations confirmed by the Supreme Court. We are talking about the cases of “Antares” and “Hermes-Nika”.

And now the case of “Antares” and “Hermes-Nick” returns to Judge Shokumov. It is difficult for him to resist higher authorities: the pressure of “senior comrades” interferes. But you can make a just decision, since there is a decision of the Supreme Court, which confirmed the correctness of the authorities that brought Tsipinov to subsidiary liability. A loss of career in this case is also not excluded: Marchenko and his boss from the 16th Court of Appeal Marina Tokareva, as well as, contrary to the decision of the Supreme Court, Zaur Beytuganov, who released Tsipinov from responsibility in the Onyx case, do not forgive this. But the truth will be on Shokumov’s side. Will Themis see the light?
