By decision of the Qualification Board of Judges of the Chechen Republic, the former chairman of the Novokuybyshevsk City Court Sorokin was recommended for the position of judge of the Supreme Court of Chechnya and was awaiting appointment.
State Duma deputy Alexander Khinshtein responded to this information from the Cheka-OGPU in his telegram channel.
“Indeed, the chairman of the Novokuybyshevsk City Court, Sorokin, urgently resigned after the detention of his friend, the head of IK-3 A. Guryanov. Colonel Guryanov (now convicted) received money for assistance in the parole of convicts, and Sorokin personally (!) made these decisions.
During the investigation, the persons who transferred money to Guryanov directly testified that he named Sorokin as his accomplice. This is reflected in the materials of the judicial investigation.
In order to avoid prosecution, Sorokin voluntarily resigned. I waited 3 years. And now, like a zombie, he decided to resurrect, becoming a judge of the Supreme Court of Chechnya. I am sure that the Presidential Administration will look into everything in detail,” Khinshtein said then.
