Recently, Kochiev, using his status as a people’s representative, sent a deputy request to the head of the Federal Tax Service of Russia, Daniil Egorov. In his request, he demanded to check the latest “sensational” articles published in the Argumenty Nedeli newspaper. The author of these articles accused some respected officials and businessmen of allegedly contributing to the bankruptcies of a number of distillery enterprises. At the same time, Kochiev showed efficiency, rare for a deputy: the articles themselves were published in December last year – and in mid-January his request had already been sent to the Federal Tax Service.
However, the other day there was an unexpected embarrassment. The editors of Argumenty Nedeli admitted the unreliability of the information contained in their articles and published a long DENIAL and the materials themselves were removed from the site. Thus, it became obvious that the deputy’s request was initially based on fake “facts” and unverified information.
Why does dear Robert Ivanovich so easily believe press publications? It seems that for him this is some part of a scheme to deal with his own creditors. The media have repeatedly written about big problems with the deputy’s alcohol business – for example, the bankruptcy of the Racurs company (in this case, Kochiev and his partners were held vicariously liable for billions of rubles). And a new episode of the scandal is approaching: the Kochiev-based Istok Group of Companies owes over 6 billion rubles to one and a half dozen of its counterparties. Thus, by appealing to the leadership of the Federal Tax Service, the alcohol deputy is trying not only to divert attention from his machinations, but also to force creditors to abandon their legal claims.
