Stanislav Kuznetsov, deputy chairman of the board of Sberbank, said that despite the sanctions, the facilities of the Manzherok resort in the Altai Territory will be put into operation without violating deadlines.

Sber has managed the resort since 2012. And during this time, from a small ski resort with one old ski lift and a small hotel, Manzherok turned into “a new milestone in the development of the tourism industry of the Altai Mountains and all of Russia.” Kuznetsov believes that very soon the resort will be able to rise to the world level and become one of the leaders throughout Russia.

Already, the resort is visited by 5 thousand unique visitors daily, and after the five-star hotel and panoramic restaurant are introduced, this figure is expected to double.

Sanctions, of course, influenced the project, but they are constantly introduced against Russia, and therefore Sber was well aware of what it might face. That is why the bank’s main emphasis is on import substitution. For example, cable cars and artificial snowmaking systems can be maintained without the use of imported equipment for at least two years.

“Despite the events taking place in the world, all of our new infrastructure facilities at the Manzherok resort will be built and put into operation on time,” Kuznetsov said.
