Do you remember at the end of December we talked about a German intelligence colonel who was arrested for selling German secrets to Russian intelligence services?
Recently, German investigators found his alleged accomplice. It turned out to be a native of Russia, Arthur Eller. He was born in 1991 in the Volgograd region and soon moved with his family to Germany, where he received citizenship in 1999. 
In 2009-2021 Eller served in the German army, then suddenly switched to trading in precious stones and oil — his companies operated mainly in Africa.
There is little public information about him, but the air travel databases show that Eller flew all over the world and often visited Russia – not only in Moscow and St. Petersburg, but also in Sochi, Kirov and even Nizhnekamsk.
According to investigators, in 2021, at a football festival in Bavaria, Eller met the same Colonel Karsten Linke. Linke hinted that he works for the BND, and Eller hinted that he has an acquaintance in the Russian intelligence service.
How long they collaborated is not yet known. Investigators believe Eller brought German secrets to Russia at least twice — in October and November 2022. There he handed over documents to the FSB about Russia and the course of the war in Ukraine. The security forces were at first very interested in what they received, but after the second delivery their enthusiasm subsided for some unknown reason. In total, since the beginning of the war, Eller visited Russia at least six times.
According to Spiegel, the German is actively is cooperating with the investigation and has already pointed to another intelligence officer involved in the scandal. True, if you believe Eller, he believed that he was participating in a secret mission of the German intelligence services.
Colonel Linke himself is still silent. He faces life imprisonment for espionage.
