Shortly before the execution of a family of 9 people in Volnovakha, the governor of the Kamchatka Territory, Vladimir Solodov, awarded the suspects in the mass murder. Here in the photo, a satisfied official smiles and hugs contract soldiers Anton Sopov and Stanislav Rau in one of the barns near Donetsk – where the politician arrived to pose with employees of the 40th and 155th Guards Marine Brigades of the Pacific Fleet. Shortly before the meeting with the governor, the marines took part in battles near the village of Novomayorskoye and, at Shoigu’s suggestion, they were presented with awards. Politicians also used the opportunity to appear in the media. In addition to the medals, fighters of the 155th Brigade Anton Sopov (he is on the left in the photo with Solodov) and Stanislav Rau (on the right) received from the hands of the governor a symbolic present – a Cheburashka, and then they all took pictures together with the toy. And just a couple of weeks later, these two, according to investigators, will shoot 9 people at point-blank range, including young children. Previously, the cause of the conflict was a dispute over the sale of alcohol. According to one version, the military celebrated the birthday of one of their colleagues and wanted to continue the banquet, but the store did not want to sell them alcohol, and on this basis they clashed with the Kapkanets family.

Interestingly, Sopov and Rau became the heroes of numerous propaganda stories on RT and Izvestia. Sopov was introduced there as a shooter with the call sign “Khimik”.

All of them fought as part of the “Storm” detachment, which included fellow countrymen Sopov and Rau. The Cheka-OGPU managed to identify the closest friends of the alleged killers – among them, natives of the town of Yaroslavsky, Primorsky Territory, where Sopov was from, and Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky – Stanislav Rau lived there. It is interesting that just a day after the execution of the Kapkanets family, posts in support of Sopov the “Chemist” began to spread on Z-resources. It is worth noting that the Marine, judging by his account on social networks, is interested in the ideas of neo-Nazism and Old Church Slavonic themes.
