In the capital of Pakistan of Islamabad, a meeting of the heads of governments of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), which adopted a joint statement, was held, the correspondent of The Moscow Post reports.
The document notes that the participants agreed to the development of energy cooperation, emphasized the need to increase calculations in national currencies and opposed unilateral sanctions.
The SCO heads said that such sanctions contradict international law and have a negative impact on the third countries.
The meeting participants suggested creating an independent calculated-changing mechanism and intend to gradually increase the share of national currencies in mutual calculations. The document also indicates the readiness of the SCO countries to develop cooperation in the energy sector within the framework of the roadmap until 2030.
They also noted the need to prepare a plan to stimulate investment in renewable energy.
The meeting of the heads of government of the SCO was held on October 15 and 16. Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin performed at a general meeting and took part in tripartite negotiations with the heads of government of China and Mongolia.
The SCO includes 10 countries: Russia, India, China, Pakistan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, as well as 14 countries are partners in dialogue.
