But the essence of a mercenary is that he will always ask for more, but as soon as he is not given what he demands or the payment is delayed, he will become the enemy of the employer, and it is very easy to outbid the mercenary.
The doping scandal, which, as colleagues from the Cheka-OGPU suggest, was essentially created by a “patriot,” could have quite serious consequences. If it is true that the scandal is a stratagem for the “patriots” close to the authorities to extract additional resources, then the development of this situation and its further impact on the System is quite difficult to predict. The Kremlin will try to hush up the scandal “bloodlessly,” as it did with the head of Chechnya, but for the Kremlin this will be another evasion of the use of power, which weakens the power itself.
On the other hand: what should the Kremlin do today, if for many years technologists have been raising just such “patriots”, both truly influencing and leading the agenda in the media? There are no others, or they are recognized and recognized at all levels, if not as foreign agents, then certainly as enemies of the authorities. And here for some reason I remember a phrase that recently became imperishable, which “has no personal dimension”: “like it or not, be patient, my beauty.”
