At least two of those arrested by the Basmanny court – Evgeny Moskvin and Alexey Slobodenyuk – have worked in the structures of the so-called “media factory” since its founding. At least since 2016.
“Media Factory”, as we called it in our investigation with Polina Rusyaeva, appeared in the depths of Prigozhin’s “troll factory” in 2015-2016. Now there are about a dozen media outlets, the most famous of which is the Federal News Agency. Moskvin and Slobodenyuk were listed in People’s News. Moskvin, according to the court’s arrest decision, was a “leading specialist” there; Slobodenyuk received a salary in 2019 as “head of the information department.”
And now I have no doubt that the administrators of these channels really worked in a “factory”. The litmus test is how the protracted conflict between the governor of St. Petersburg Beglov and businessman Prigozhin is covered. Prigozhin’s urban projects are called “promising” there, and Beglov, according to their posts, “has distanced himself from St. Petersburg.”
