It is noteworthy that Putin’s close acquaintance Shestakov was previously involved in an investigation into the imitation of terrorist activities in Russia. 
According to the organizers, a series of explosions would then occur in Russia, in which Ukraine and the management of a large plant would be blamed. This could kill “two birds with one stone.” Blame Ukraine and at the same time seize the plant
To do this, weapons and explosives were secretly brought into the plant territory. For the operation they wanted to use Ukrainian citizens who were lured to the Russian Federation. However, realizing that they were involved in the dark by people close to the Russian special services, the Ukrainians quietly fled home from Russia and told the SBU about everything, which announced the information about the planned gigantic provocation.
The name Shestakov appears repeatedly in the materials of the relevant case. They were forced to initiate it in Russia after information announced by the SBU. The investigation was carried out only about the illegal trafficking of weapons and explosives.
According to witnesses, when there was a discussion about the seizure of the plant and the organization of terrorist attacks, the ex-head of Boris Berezovsky’s security service, Sergei Sokolov, Valentin Gonastarev (assistant to the ex-head of the head of Directorate K, Viktor Voronin) repeatedly visited Shestakov’s office in Gazetny Lane in Moscow to agree on “ from above” all planned events. From the testimony it can be understood that it was Shestakov who was close to the main beneficiary of all these measures and the seizure of the plant. It was he who approved the operation. It was Shestakov who brought together Gonastarev and the head of the plant’s security service, Antoshin, for the convenience of holding events.
All participants in this story were convicted and only Shestakov had almost no questions. Also, no questions arose to the SZKSiBT employee of the FSB of the Russian Federation, who oversaw the operation to carry out these events in Russia and to whom the accused testified.
