The story is more than strange. If only because Fedotov played in the army club – CSKA. There, issues of conscription and terms of service are usually resolved without problems, promptly. The very fact of being in any army team, not only CSKA, is automatically counted towards army service. Maybe he “didn’t serve” to the end in the elite Moscow team, and thus Ivan still owed a “debt”?
