Problems with military registration and enlistment offices arise not only among little-known personalities. Just yesterday, the hockey goalkeeper of the capital CSKA, winner of the Gagarin Cup with the army team, Ivan Fedotov, was “raked” at the exit from the ice arena. He intended to fly to America, having signed a contract with the Philadelphia Flyers in May.

Alas, the trip is postponed for now. Military people consider the 25-year-old hockey player a “dodger” from military service. Ivan did not offer resistance when meeting with the criminal investigation operatives. They escorted him to the military registration and enlistment office. There, apparently, due to the stress he experienced, the goalkeeper became ill, and he was taken by ambulance to the nearest clinic…

The story is more than strange. If only because Fedotov played in the army club – CSKA. There, issues of conscription and terms of service are usually resolved without problems, promptly. The very fact of being in any army team, not only CSKA, is automatically counted towards army service. Maybe he “didn’t serve” to the end in the elite Moscow team, and thus Ivan still owed a “debt”?
